Cebu local holidays 2027: extra rest for people who work in Cebu
If you work in Cebu, you get a bonus: on top of national holidays, Cebu City and Cebu Province have their own special days. Add them to your plan, and your breaks can be longer than in other places.
Cebu City Charter Day: February 24, 2027 (Wednesday)
It marks Cebu City's founding as a city. It's a special non-working day in Cebu City, fixed by law (RA 7287) every February 24.
Since it's a Wednesday, here's how to make it count:
- Mon-Fri: File February 25-26 (Thursday and Friday): you're off February 24-28. 2 leave days → 5 days off. Or file February 22-23 (Monday and Tuesday): you're off February 20-24. 2 leave days → 5 days off.
- Mon-Sat: File February 22-23 (Monday and Tuesday): you're off February 21-24. 2 leave days → 4 days off. Or file February 25-27 (Thursday to Saturday): you're off February 24-28. 3 leave days → 5 days off.
Note: February 25 (EDSA anniversary) is a special working day in 2027, so there's work that day.
Cebu Province Charter Day: August 6, 2027 (Friday)
It marks the founding of Cebu Province. It's a special non-working day every August 6, by law (RA 8952).
Since it's a Friday:
- Mon-Fri: You're off from Friday, August 6 to Sunday, August 8. 0 leave → 3 days off. Want more? File August 9 (Monday): you're off August 6-9. 1 leave day → 4 days off. Or file August 5 (Thursday): you're off August 5-8. 1 leave day → 4 days off.
- Mon-Sat: File August 7 (Saturday): you're off August 6-8. 1 leave day → 3 days off.
Where does it apply? It covers the whole Province of Cebu, including Cebu City, Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu (RA 8952). Still follow your LGU's announcement and your HR.
Bonus: National Heroes Day is on the last Monday of August, August 30, 2027. So Cebu workers get two long weekends in August (August 6-8 and August 28-30).
Osmeña Day: September 9, 2027 (Thursday)
It honors the late President Sergio Osmeña, Sr. It's a special non-working day in Cebu City and the Province of Cebu, fixed by law (RA 6953) every September 9. Elsewhere in the Philippines it's a special working day, so people outside Cebu work as usual.
Since it's a Thursday:
- Mon-Fri: File September 10 (Friday): you're off September 9-12. 1 leave day → 4 days off.
- Mon-Sat: File September 10-11 (Friday and Saturday): you're off September 9-12. 2 leave days → 4 days off. Or file September 6-8 (Monday to Wednesday): you're off September 5-9. 3 leave days → 5 days off.
Where does it apply? RA 6953 covers Cebu City and the Province of Cebu with its component cities. Mandaue/Lapu-Lapu: check with HR. Still follow your LGU's announcement and your HR.
Other local days
Some Cebu towns and cities have their own charter days or fiestas declared as special days. These usually come out in separate proclamations during the year. We'll add the ones we can confirm to the planner, with a source link and a "last updated" date.
How to include them in the planner
Under "Where do you work?", pick Cebu City or Cebu Province. The planner adds those local holidays automatically. Remember: what matters is where you work, not where you live, because that decides whether you have work that day.

Cebu local holidays 2027: dagdag na pahinga para sa mga taga-Cebu
Kung sa Cebu ka nagtatrabaho, may bonus ka: bukod sa national holidays, may sariling special days ang Cebu City at ang Cebu Province. Isama mo ang mga 'to sa plano mo, at puwedeng mas mahaba pa ang mga break mo kaysa sa mga nasa ibang lugar.

Ginugunita ang pagiging lungsod ng Cebu City. Special non-working day ito sa Cebu City, nakatakda sa batas (RA 7287) tuwing Feb 24.
Dahil Miyerkules ito, ganito ito sulitin:
- Mon-Fri: Mag-file ng Feb 25-26 (Huwebes at Biyernes): off ka Feb 24-28. 2 leave → 5 days off. O mag-file ng Feb 22-23 (Lunes at Martes): off ka Feb 20-24. 2 leave → 5 days off.
- Mon-Sat: Mag-file ng Feb 22-23 (Lunes at Martes): off ka Feb 21-24. 2 leave → 4 days off. O mag-file ng Feb 25-27 (Huwebes hanggang Sabado): off ka Feb 24-28. 3 leave → 5 days off.
Paalala: ang Feb 25 (EDSA anniversary) ay special working day sa 2027, kaya may pasok.
Cebu Province Charter Day: Aug 6, 2027 (Biyernes)
Ginugunita ang pagkakatatag ng Cebu Province. Special non-working day ito tuwing Aug 6, ayon sa batas (RA 8952).
Dahil Biyernes ito:
- Mon-Fri: Off ka mula Biyernes, Aug 6 hanggang Linggo, Aug 8. 0 leave → 3 days off. Gusto mo pang humaba? Mag-file ng Aug 9 (Lunes): off ka Aug 6-9. 1 leave → 4 days off. O mag-file ng Aug 5 (Huwebes): off ka Aug 5-8. 1 leave → 4 days off.
- Mon-Sat: Mag-file ng Aug 7 (Sabado): off ka Aug 6-8. 1 leave → 3 days off.
Saan ito may bisa? Sakop nito ang buong Cebu Province, kasama ang Cebu City, Mandaue at Lapu-Lapu (RA 8952). Sundin pa rin ang anunsyo ng LGU at HR ninyo.
Bonus: ang National Heroes Day ay sa huling Lunes ng Agosto, Aug 30, 2027. Kaya dalawang long weekend ang Agosto ng mga taga-Cebu (Aug 6-8 at Aug 28-30).

Bilang paggunita sa yumaong Pangulong Sergio Osmeña, Sr. Special non-working day ito sa Cebu City at sa Province of Cebu, nakatakda sa batas (RA 6953) tuwing Sep 9. Sa ibang bahagi ng Pilipinas, special working day ito, kaya may pasok gaya ng dati ang mga nasa labas ng Cebu.

Paano isama sa planner
Sa "Saan ka nagtatrabaho?", piliin ang Cebu City o Cebu Province. Awtomatikong idadagdag ng planner ang local holidays na 'yan sa kuwenta. Tandaan: ang importante ay kung saan ka nagtatrabaho, hindi kung saan ka nakatira, kasi doon nakadepende kung may pasok ka.
